So held actions!

Held actions are a point of contention for alot of people, they slow down the already slow combat and dilute it, complicating it for the DM, and are generally very difficult to keep track of, due to their wibbly nature.

I am NOT going to be removing them however I absolutely understand how slow they can make things, therefore the following rules are going to be put in place for them:

  • When Declaring that you are holding your action, you MUST explain what you are holding your action to do, for example if you suspect someone may attack you, you may hold your action to flee first if they try to attack you.
  • If you want to keep your action secret, send it to the DM using /whisper or /gmroll, but ensure that you have it ready to send once you tell me you are holding your action and tell the group you're sending your action privately
  • If you hold your action during a round, it DOES NOT carry over to the next round. As such if you hold your action and do not take it, you LOSE your held action.

Please do your best to follow these, if you do so it will speed up combat significantly and help keep the DM on top of things.

As in, you shift away using your swift action? Yes you can hold your swift action if thats something you can do.

If you mean using the move swift, then you can also do that if you can use the move swift as a swift action.
